WHY did I download Tinder?

Okay, quick back story. In 2012/2013 I went through a very bad time in my life. Long story short, I took a break from dealing with guys in any way until January of 2016 (was focused on putting my life/myself back together) . Well needless to say 6 months later I am still being mind fucked daily. I don’t know if it’s just me, as a result of this 3 year break, or if everyone is dealing with this bullshit. But guys I can’t deal!!!!! So I decided to document some of my favourite experiences dealing with males for your enjoyment.

This particular story begins on Tinder. Yes you read that right. I know, I know. It’s Tinder, what did I expect? Well damn, I expected something better than this. Guys I was bored and wanted to see what the hype was about. So I made an account (it links to your Facebook), put that I wasn’t looking to hook up and went on to spend most of my time swiping left (like 95% of time). Anyways I swiped left on a couple guys and had matches. Based on my experience I got either: a corny line (NEXT), a sexual comment somewhere within the first few messages (NEXT), or a guy that actually seemed decent (POTENTIAL??).

This one particular guy seemed to have potential. Personal trainer, cute, older, nice and has his shit together. So I gave him my number, we talked a bit, I made it clear that I wasn’t looking for a hook up/one night stand and we set up a day to meet and place to meet, cause we were just going to be friends. 7:30 pm on a Saturday at a popular mall. Well the day comes and I get busy and realize I won’t make it home before 9:00 pm. So I offer to reschedule. But he insists that after 9 is ok and we can still meet. This is the conversation that follows… Girl, I’m putting a real life screenshot, we are now friends 🙂

GUYS, I have no words. First, he didn’t even offer to meet at any actual place. Just outside a mall. Is he serious? Does he seriously think that this is even an option? I had no problem meeting later, but meeting in the dark in a deserted place???? Shitttttttt. We could’ve met at Starbucks or McDonalds. I’m not bougie. I really don’t care. But in front of a deserted mall? I’d rather not experience a real life episode of criminal minds. I don’t know why he thought that this option was safe for him or me? We’re meeting off an app. Common sense is to meet in a public place… On top of that he pulled a classic guy line. Tried to make me seem immature by asking if we we’re still in grade 9? Nice try. You will not manipulate me into doing something by making it seem like I’m acting like a child. In fact, in grade 9 I probably would have met him in the dark in front of a deserted mall. Wanna know why? Because I didn’t know better. I’m 20 and I definitely know better. I’m not going to put myself in a potentially dangerous situation for some guy off of tinder. I get it. You don’t feel like a creep/threat, that’s cool, but I don’t know you. And until I do, I’m going to apply common sense and you should too!

Needless to say I won’t be talking to him again. And I’ve deleted the app. This is just one of the many interesting experiences I’ve had off of tinder and I’m not dealing with this shit anymore. So goodbye Tinder, it was not fun at all… why did I even download you?

If you or anyone you know has experienced anything similar on Tinder please share. I hope I’m not alone 🙂
